Zygoma (cheek bone), is an extremely solid and durable bone in the facial region. At times, we get patients who need full mouth rehabilitation, but the quality and volume of bone in the upper jaw is poor and inadequate. This low quality bone could be because of different reasons, for example, resorption of bone because of maturing or helpless oral hygiene. In such cases, conventional dental implants can’t be utilized. For such patients, we prompt zygoma implants. This means, we take an anchorage for the implant from the zygomatic bone (cheek bone). After thorough evaluation of the patient with the necessary scan, we virtually plan the zygomatic implant in special software, and then the procedure of placing the implant is carried out.
The implants are accessible in lengths going from 30 to 52.5mm. These implants are placed at an angle to the zygomatic bone. Because of the sturdy anchorage achievable in the dense bone of the cheek region, and the wide stress distribution achieved on these tilted implants, prosthesis can regularly be quickly positioned at the hour of medical procedure. prosthesis can regularly be quickly positioned at the hour of medical procedure. prosthesis can regularly be quickly positioned at the hour of medical procedure.
